Many times that we assist foreign typical food restaurants and letters don’t come translated occurs to us.At other times, yes we can enjoy of a translation of the dishes that we offer for lunch or dinner, although this is not at all good and we should make an effort to understand it. It is becoming more common in catering, and more especially sights, enjoy a letter or another depending on the nationality to which you belong, except in truly specialized establishments.
Gourmet translation has been gaining importance over the years due to the increase in tourism and the step to an increasingly globalized society. But what is this type of translation?
Culinary or gastronomic translation has to do with the possibility of translating those dishes, foods, or present in the menus of the restaurants or in the catalogs recipes (physical or internet) so that every client has the ease of knowing what is asking in each of the cases. Such translation is not a simple matter, since it is not only necessary to translate the ingredients that takes each dish, but that must also conform to the metric system of each country or make reference to certain foods that do not always have translation.
Another obstacle in carrying out a good translation on the menu of a restaurant are cultural differences across countries. As well as the presence of words with difficult or impossible translations, for example: paella, gazpacho, or stew. In these cases, a great explanation of ingredients associated with the recipe in the relevant language will be required.
